We exist to offer something simple but rare: a space where excellent coffee, thoughtful food, and genuine hospitality come together without pretension. We call it functional unwinding — a place to slow down, recharge, and enjoy something crafted with care.

DRAFT. Coffee is a specialty coffee shop and café with locations in Zürich's Seefeld district and at Marktplatz in Basel. We opened our first location in August 2024 on Wildbachstrasse 68 in Zürich, and have since expanded to the heart of Basel with a full coffee and restaurant concept.

What we serve

At DRAFT., our drinks menu goes far beyond espresso. Alongside perfectly extracted filter coffee and espresso-based drinks, we offer a curated selection of functional beverages — including our signature Matcha Latte, Chagaccino (made with chaga mushroom), and Jamu, an Indonesian herbal tonic. These are drinks built around flavour and wellbeing, for guests who want more than caffeine.

During the week, we serve homemade breakfast dishes and fresh pastries — including our cinnamon and cardamom buns, sourced from White Rabbit Bakery. On weekends, our kitchen moves into full brunch mode, with an expanding menu of sweet and savoury dishes, both plant-based and not, prepared with seasonal ingredients.

Our Basel location operates as a full coffee and restaurant, with a lunch and dinner menu available throughout the week.

Our Spaces

Both DRAFT. locations were designed with the same philosophy: beautiful, intentional spaces that feel as good as they look.

The Zürich café was designed by RDZ Studio and features a sleek, minimalist aesthetic inspired by Scandinavian design. Natural materials — wood, beeswax plaster, vintage furniture — meet clean-lined stainless steel elements, including our centrepiece cloud-shaped coffee bar. Large windows flood the space with natural light and keep it grounded in the calm urban rhythm of Seefeld.

The Basel venue, located on the fourth floor of Globus at Marktplatz 2, brings the same spirit to one of Switzerland's most historic city squares, with a fuller restaurant format.

Our Philosophy

We believe great coffee is only part of the equation. The other parts are the people who make it, the space you're in, and what you eat alongside it. That's why we invest as much attention in our food program, our team culture, and our interiors as we do in our beans.

Sustainability is woven into how we operate: from the use of natural and recyclable materials in our interiors, to our focus on plant-forward menus that reduce our environmental footprint without compromising on flavour.

We also bring the DRAFT. experience beyond our café walls — through event catering across Switzerland, private dinners, and brand collaborations for companies who want their guests to experience something truly memorable.

    DRAFT. - the “never finished” creative concept was born out of his passion to create exceptional experiences, starting with DRAFT. Coffee in Seefeld and now growing into DRAFT. Coffee & Restaurant in Basel. He is an experienced sales director in global fashion & sports brands.

  • Head of Coffee

    You may hear him say that he has over 13 years of experience with coffee - and it shows! Nikos is responsible for coffee sourcing, drink development and company-wide quality control so that your coffee tastes the same on Monday as well as on Friday.

  • Head Chef

    Dimi (one of our three Dimi’s in the kitchen) is a seasoned head chef responsible for the curation & creation of our exquisite menus across all locations, as well as all our food concepts (catering, private dinners). When he’s not making incredible dishes, he’s training our kitchen staff & maintaining quality control throughout DRAFT.

What kind of coffee does DRAFT. serve?

We serve specialty-grade espresso and filter coffee, brewed with precision by trained baristas. Our menu also includes matcha lattes, chagaccino, Jamu and other functional drinks. Our beans are sourced from local roasters.


Do you offer vegan or plant-based options?

Yes. Our menu features a strong plant-based selection across both food and drinks. Our event catering menus can also be tailored to be fully plant-based.


Do I need a reservation?

At our Zürich Seefeld location, no reservations are taken — it's first-come, first-served. For private dining or event catering, please get in touch via our catering inquiry page.
